You know, I had given up on New York this year and now I see a lot of my friends from back home and abroad are coming in to visit me this summer. It was hard but I found some places that will make the trip to New York one to remember. Please bring digital camera, dining wear, bathing suits and call me when you get here. I will be your tour guide.
G-SPA
The Hotel Gansevoort,

THE PLAYERS: Richie Akiva and Scott Sartiano, the duo behind celeb-strewn Butter in the East Village, are teaming up with China Grill’s Jeffrey Chodorow.
THE PLAN: The glitzy subterranean lounge will function as an actual health spa for hotel guests and “select” others during the day and transform into a clandestine den of sin for the rich and fabulous come sundown. Sartiano — the smooth operator who once dated Ashley Olsen — asserts that G-SPA will serve as a “much-needed” new venue for his high-profile buddies.
THE SPACE: The 3,000-square-foot venue — bedecked in cool white tiles — features three hydro-pools for the spa’s daytime guests. Nightfall could elicit water sports among expected celebrities, as there are banquettes alongside the tubs; though Sartiano says, “Of course, the pools will be off-limits during lounge hours.” The spa’s treatment rooms will morph into curtained-off, posse-sized nooks, with flat-screen TVs and mini-bars.
THE DOOR: Among the toughest in town. Co-owner Sartiano has recruited a doorman “who nobody knows,” in order to keep the usual suspects out. Favoritism is expected to rule. If you are known at Butter, you’ll be welcome at G-SPA. And of course, unless you already are on the proverbial list, it can’t hurt to come with a posse of pretties.
THE LIST: You know — “the gang!” Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Diddy, Molly Sims, Ashlee Simpson, Taye Diggs, John Stamos, Anne Hathaway and Estonian uber-mannequin Carmen Kass (who had a long on-again, off-again romance with Akiva).
The Manor

THE PLAYERS: Alex Ancheta, the former Suede sentry and Veruka vet, and a hush-hush, A-list investor.
THE PLAN: A $1.5-million extreme makeover of the old Pink Elephant space enters the Meatpacking District fray with a posh new look and vibe.
THE SPACE: The deep-pocket design budget includes leather(!) floors, Brazilian walnut finishes, banquettes upholstered with Bottega Veneta calfskin and a state-of-the-art sound system that was designed by a NASA engineer. As if those aren’t enough over-the-top trimmings, there’s also a floor tiled with real 24k gold in the VIP area that’s perfect for drunken starlets to pass out on.
THE DOOR: It’s an intimate (i.e. smaller) venue, so the door divas get to be especially picky. Find out who’s promoting the party that night, and get your name on the list before you show up. Or befriend a celebrity sidekick.
THE LIST: Those lucky enough to squeeze past the
velvet ropes can expect sightings of Ancheta’s pals, like Leo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Damon Dash and Yankee-about-town Derek Jeter.
Pink Elephant

THE PLAYERS: Nightlife entrepreneurs David Sarner, Rocco Ancarola, David Cabo, David Graziano, Shawn Kolodny and Robert Montwaid.
THE PLAN: “Theultimatenightlife experience,” they say. Whatever that means. We know it’s multi-tiered and more posh than the Pink Pachyderm’s previous incarnation on Eighth Ave.
THE SPACE: Imagine exotic plants, crystal chandeliers, and a curving, 30-foot-long floating bar hovering over the club’s massive 4,000-square-foot main room. Now imagine a bar tab to match.
THE DOOR: Tough. But there are enough partners’ names to drop a different one each night. Then there’s always bottle service reservations — if you pony up, you’re in.
THE LIST: Pink Elephant expats like Mike Piazza, Chris Noth, David Schwimmer, Shannon Doherty, Chloe Sevigny, R. Kelly, Michael Jordan, Eva Longoria, Bruce Willis, Owen Wilson, Matt Dillon, Tara Reid, Eli Manning and Jeremy Piven.
Buddha Bar

THE PLAYERS: Jean Yves-Haouzi, owner of the original Buddha Bar in Paris.
THE PLAN: The haute-Parisian restaurant and lounge has been desperately trying to open up shop — and replicate the original’s aura — in the Apple since 2003. Each year they swear that they’re thisclose to finally debuting here, only to be done in by a series of tragic zoning, construction and/or financial mishaps.
THE SPACE: A 13,000-square-foot restaurant and lounge with seating for over 500. We’ll believe it when we’re finally sitting beneath that trademark Buddha statue contentedly popping magnums of Moët, and listening to the club’s signature Muzak. Insiders swear it’s finally nearing a happy ending.
THE DOOR: It’s a restaurant, remember, and an enormous one at that, so make a reservation for dinner and stick around for the after-fun.
THE LIST: Globetrotting mannequins, like Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova and Milla Jovovich, and Francophiles like Johnny Depp and his wife, Vanessa Paradis. Smoking, everyone?
Pacha

Now that everyone is out of the South Beach sun, we are getting Dark and Delicious tonight with Angel Moreas and Dave Vasquez! Cool off to another hot set in Pacha’s tropical main room. Get into the intensity that is set off by three rooms and with DJs all over the place; this new den for NY's nightclub fanatics is a sight to behold firsthand! Pacha only a few months old has been written about and reported on by nearly every local paper and channel.
The club's spacious interior is a maze of hidden stairwells and VIP retreats with ultra posh areas for those intimate rendezvous that make a night so special. By October 12, the Coral Room's 9,000-gallon fish tank will be a thing of the past, replaced by a 3-D mural of boom box and stereo parts.
Co-owner Barry Milaneux is hoping to lure downtowners by layering an early, homegrown rap esthetic on the rock lounges of 1980s Hollywood. Seth Gerszberg, co-founder of Mark Ecko, has tagged one wall; in the raised VIP room, black-and-white lightboxes of Wild Style-era scenes glow amidst bamboo trees. But the bottle service on the main floor with DJs Mark Ronson and Juske proves antithetically high-rent.
